Now on to the cabbages and parades!!

Laissez les bons temps rouler… with a side of cabbage! 🥬

St. Patrick’s Day in New Orleans isn’t just about green beer and shamrocks—it’s a full-blown, week-long celebration filled with parades, block parties, and one of the city’s quirkiest traditions: catching your groceries. That’s right—while other cities throw beads, here in NOLA, we throw cabbage, carrots, potatoes, and even the occasional onion. It’s like a St. Patrick’s Day meal flying at your face.

If you’re ready to embrace the Irish spirit (or just love a good excuse to party), here’s everything you need to know about this year’s festivities:

🍀 2025 St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Party Schedule

• Saturday, March 15 – Irish Channel Parade (1 PM): The big one! Starting at Magazine & Felicity, this classic parade is where you’ll score your cabbage haul.

• Sunday, March 16 – Metairie Road St. Patrick’s Parade (Noon): Family-friendly, tons of throws, and a great way to spend a Sunday. Bonus Parade: Due to the Mardi Gras Day rescheduling, the Krewe of Argus will lead on the same route starting at 10am!

• Monday, March 17 – Downtown Irish Club Parade (4 PM): This one starts in the Marigny and makes its way to the French Quarter—expect bagpipes, toasts, and a lot of green.

• Saturday, March 22 – Italian-Irish Parade in Metairie (Noon): Because why stop at just one culture? Italian and Irish traditions collide in this final New Orleans-style celebration.

🥬 What to Do With All That Cabbage?

So, you caught an entire head of cabbage (or five). Now what? Instead of letting it roll around in your trunk for a week, try one of these ideas:

1️⃣ Make an Irish stew – Toss that cabbage in a pot with those parade potatoes and carrots!

2️⃣ Colcannon mashed potatoes – A classic Irish side dish blending mashed potatoes and cabbage.

3️⃣ Egg rolls or cabbage wraps – NOLA style means getting creative.

🏡 A Little Luck in Real Estate?

They say if you put a fresh cabbage in your kitchen, it brings prosperity to your home. But if you’re really looking for good fortune, finding the right place to live is even better. Whether you’re buying, selling, or just curious about what’s on the market, I’d love to help. Let’s chat—no cabbage required. 😉
